Department of Geographic Information Science: The Department of Geographic Information Science was established in 2000. The department has experimental research sites such as remote sensing and photogrammetry technology laboratory, geographic information and smart city laboratory, 3S technology comprehensive application laboratory, and Jimei University Geographic and National Conditions Monitoring Research Center. The total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is about 1 million yuan. The team has rich experience in the research fields of coastal resources and environment, atmospheric environment remote sensing, environmental assessment and planning, urban disaster prevention, "3S" technology application and geographic information system development. There are 10 teachers in the Department of Geographic Information Science, 6 with senior titles, 8 with doctoral degrees, and 1 master's tutor.
